The Story all the way from Graphic novel 1 to novel 9)
Fifteen years ago, Keitaro Urashima made a promise to a
girl that the two of them would go to Tokyo University together. For
fifteen years, Keitaro Urashima had slaved away at the books, stumbling
through academia until the day he could take the entrance exam for Tokyo
University. For fifteen years, Keitaro Urashima had been driven by that
promise, a drive that had outstripped even his memory of the girl's name.
And here he is, fifteen years later, having failed the entrance exam three
times already, having readied himself so thouroughly to fail again, having
discovered that the girl that has recently studied with him, helping him
beat his fear of tests, at last the saga has ended, the impossible has
become reality.
Keitaro Urashima after fifteen years, has passed the
entrance exam. This is one boy that won't live another year as a ronin.
He is going to Tokyo U. But he almost screwed that up. Convinced he had
failed, Keitaro left the exam hall and ran straight to the solace only a
tropical isle in the Pacific can offer. Luckily enough, Naru and the
gang trekked out there to retrieve him in time to register for school.
And while there, Keitaro was turned on to archeology. But perhaps we
should back up a bit...
This chapter in Keitaro Urashima's life began a year
ago when he inherited from his globe-trotting grandmother the Hinata
House, an all-girls dormitory whose clientele is none too pleased that
their new, live-in landlord is a man or as close to man as poor Keitaro
can be. The lanky loser incessantly (and accidently) crashes their
sessions in the hot springs, walks in on them changing, and pokes his
nose pretty much everywhere that it can get broken, if not by the hot
headed Naru - the mystery girl from fifteen years ago - then by
one of the other Hinata inmates - Kitsune,a late-teen alcoholic
with a diesil libido; Motoko, a swordsman who struggles with a
feminine identity; Shinobu, a pre-teen princess with a colossal
crush on Keitaro; Sarah, an orphaned ward resentful of being left
there by her archeologist guardian; Mutsumi, an accident-prone
lily also studying for her exams; and Haruka, Keitaro's aunt and
de-facto matriach of the Hinita House.
